Our mission focuses on educating the community, fostering understanding, and empowering individuals to take action against this pressing issue, ensuring that every voice is heard and every victim is supported. We encompass Circuit 19 which includes Martin, Saint Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties.

Our initiatives have fostered a profound impact in the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee regions, offering vital support and resources to those affected by human trafficking. Through targeted education and community outreach, we are building a network of safety and awareness.

Collaborating Survivor Resources: Circuit 19 Human Trafficking Resource Listserv

The mission: To unify the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee anti-human trafficking resources to best serve survivors and potential victims of trafficking.

The objective: To create a vetted pool of service providers with tangible resources throughout the Treasure Coast areas (Martin, Saint Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties) for survivors of human trafficking to further serve this population. This will be accomplished through initiating an email request/response to identify these resources within 24-48 hours to mobilize assistance for survivors.

  • What is human trafficking?

    Human Trafficking is a crime involving the exploitation of a person for labor, services, or commercial sex.


    The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 and its subsequent reauthorizations recognize and define two primary forms of human trafficking:


    Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, or soliciting of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such act has not attained 18 years of age. (22 U.S.C. § 7102(11)(A)).


    Forced labor is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery. (22 U.S.C. § 7102(11)(B)).
